Domestic building fire

At 3.33pm on Wednesday (3) crews from Bedford and Kempston were called to a small fire in a flat on the second floor of a three-storey block in Avon Drive, Bedford.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel and jets to extinguish the fire and fans to disperse the smoke and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

The property was heavily damaged by smoke.

The cause of the fire was accidental and was caused by an electrical fault.
