Domestic building fire

At 1.31pm on Friday (5) two crews from Luton, along with crews from Stopsley and Leighton Buzzard were called to a ground floor kitchen fire in mid-terraced house in Selbourne Road, Luton.

Six firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, used two hose reels and a covering jet to extinguish the fire. They also used thermal imaging cameras and fans. Gas, water and electricity were isolated and neighbouring properties were checked. One 82-year-old female was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
