Derelict commercial building fire

At 6.52pm on Monday (22) crews Bedford, Kempston and Leighton Buzzard were called to a fire in a derelict commercial building in Gadsby Street, Bedford.  

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire in the two storey building. Positive pressure fans were also used to clear the smoke. Two people exited the building and were left in the care of an ambulance crew.  

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
