Domestic building fire

At 11.18pm on Saturday (3) crews from Luton, Dunstable, Ampthill and Leighton Buzzard  were called to a fire in the basement of a two-storey property in Edward Street, Dunstable.  

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire, fans to clear the smoke and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots. FRS isolated gas supply and UK Power Networks isolated electricity. Both neighbouring properties checked internally with gas monitoring and thermal imaging camera. There was no fire or smoke spread. Scene handed over to Police.  

 The cause of the fire is being investigated.
