At 9.38pm on Saturday (18) crews from Luton and Dunstable were called to a derelict public house on fire in Manor Road, Caddington.
Fighters wearing breathing apparatus used an aerial platform from Hertfordshire FRS to tackle the fire that had spread from the first floor to the roof. Crews used three hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire. Crews remained on site into the early hours to monitor the site using a thermal imaging camera to ensure that hotspots did not develop.
Police remained onsite overnight on Saturday to ensure scene safety.
A joint fire investigation by BFRS and Bedfordshire Police concluded it was deliberate.
