At 3.39pm on Monday (20) crews from Kempston and Bedford were called to a small fire the downstairs living room of a property in Green End Road, Kempston.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus a hose reel to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
