Commercial building fire

At 1.07pm on Sunday (26) crews from Luton and Stopsley were called to a fire in a retail space which was caused by faulty electrics in Chaul End Lane, Luton.      

Fighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire that was approximately 35 by 25 metres using hose reels and jets and dry powder to extinguish the fire and fans to clear the smoke. A thermal imaging camera was used to ensure that hotspots did not develop.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
