Domestic building fire

At 7.53am on Tuesday (18) crews from Sandy, Potton and Baldock were called to a kitchen fire in a property in Chambers Way, Biggleswade.      

Fire was out on arrival but firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to dampen down the area and high-pressure fans to clear the smoke and thermal imaging cameras to check for hot spots.  

One 59-year-old male was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
