Domestic building fire

At 6.20pm on Thursday (27) two crews from Luton and a crew from Stopsley were called to a fire in a property in Baker Street, Luton.      

When crews arrived, they were confronted by a fire that was approximately 6m x 20m.  

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and jets along with a safety jet to extinguish the fire. High pressure fans were used to clear the smoke and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

One elderly male was led to safety.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
