Domestic building fire

At 5.10pm on Wednesday (12) two crews from Luton were called to a smoke-filled lift caused by an overheating lift motor at a property in Villa Road, Luton.        

Firefighters assisted one male and one female from the lift and used water from a hose reel to cool the motor and a thermal imaging camera to monitor the motor. High pressure fans were also used to clear the smoke.  

Casualties were left in the care of the ambulance service.

The cause of the incident was accidental.
