At 1.38pm on Monday (24), crews from Bedford and Kempston were called to a fire involving a double garage at a property in Cawdor Close, Bedford.
At 1.38pm on Monday (24), crews from Bedford and Kempston were called to a fire involving a double garage at a property in Cawdor Close, Bedford.
The garage measured approximately 8m by 6m and was 100% involved in fire on arrival. A 13kg butane cylinder was involved in the fire and was removed to the rear of the garden and deemed safe by a Hazmat Officer.
Electricity and gas supplies were isolated to the property.
Two casualties were assessed at the scene by the Ambulance Service.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one main jet, two thermal imaging cameras, and stack drags to turn over and damp down the scene.
Home Fire Safety Checks were carried out at all neighbouring properties.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
