Domestic building fire

At 1.25pm on Monday (31) crews from Shefford and Sandy attended a fire at a two-storey semi-detached property in Church Lane, Arlesey.

The fire originated on the ground floor caused by unattended smoking materials.  The ground floor was 75% destroyed by fire and 100% by smoke.  

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire from an aerial platform from Luton using two hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire. High-pressure fans were also used to clear the smoke. Gas and electricity were isolated in the property by FRS.
