Community Safety Officer meets with Armed Forces veterans about home fire safety

Ewa Depka, Community Safety Officer spoke to 25 ex-military personnel about home fire safety in general as well as winter and festive season fire safety.

Ewa said: “We talked about which detectors should be used at home and how to prevent lithium-ion batteries fires which seems to be growing concerns after some incidents were reported nationally.

“I assured everyone that implementing safe habits e.g. night time routine or charging electronic equipment only when awake and at home will increase their fire safety at home.

“This was a valuable opportunity and will be a great partnership for the Service to maintain”.
