Domestic fire in Faldo Road, Bedford

At 3.43am today (22 January) crews from Bedford and Kempston were called to a fire at a property in Faldo Road, Bedford.

The crews rescued two adults, three children, a cat and dog from a first floor bedroom window using a ladder. Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire. Large fans were used to clear the smoke.

The family were checked over by the ambulance service and no one was injured.

A fire investigation will be carried out later today to determine the cause.
